Odd Business-  Box Tops

Kids have been dropping off soup labels and Box Tops off in the Middle School Office and the Ida Library. I am checking the web site out  to see if we can get a box to collect both in. Keep up the great work.

April 15Th Movie Night: Pheonix Theaters is showing Diary of an Whimpy Kid. Eric is checking to see if we can get a great deal.

YMCA Fun Night: January 23rd  6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. We now have decided it would greatly be more beneficial to have it upgraded to Family Fun Night and invite all the Middle School to take part in this activity. Sheila is checking to see if we can have a donation spot  to get in and also to see if we can have pizza and charge for that.

Time Trackers: Still in the works, Need to email the teachers themselves to see who uses them.

Bake Sales: We have decided its not very healthy for our schools so we came up with an idea to have Smoothie Friday’ s instead. With themes to go along with them. Kelly Gotha has looked into it and will be in charge of it also. Thanks Kelly.

Book Fair: We had added an additional Thursday night to entice the parents at the game when their kids were not going to be there. Maybe they would buy for Christmas presents.

7Th & 8Th Grade Skating Party: Scheduled on a Saturday Night in March, we will be in need of Chaperone’s for that night.

7Th & 8Th Grade Dance: Went very smooth except for a little incident but very well. Was deceided that we might need 2 extra people to patrol the halls but the ratio this time was perfect and the kids were very happy.  It was also decided that the PTO was to get their own chaperone’s for this event.

Bowling is set  sometime for February.

New Business

Looking for Big Idea for Fundraisers, One Possibility is the Battery Fund Raiser.

Robotics: We have 6 teams at this time but Kevin Low has his Weoblo’s II joining home this year for this event. It’s $70. a team or for 6 teams its $420.$210. of it will be paid by the school we need to come up with the rest. So some ideas of fundraisers really would be beneficial right now.

It is a great program to keep it going for our kids and our school.

5Th & 6Th grade Basketball. Rumor has it that their wont be one this year. PTO is trying to fix this Problem by looking into it, if this is the case we will find a way to make it happen. We will need volunteers for this also.

Quiz bowl: This Monday is tryouts for this event. All grades are participating  and we have all of our parents needed for this. March 3 & 4  are the dates for competition.

Kelly Jeffs asked if we could have a Play put on by the Middle School Kids. We are looking into details and hope to see it happen. Lots of fun and the kids would love it also. Very beneficial for allot of this kids.

PTO is working on our PTO newsletter as we speak to get it out ASAP.

We have come up with a Budget and are working on getting the details out to the Officers . Great Job Nikki & Eric.

Have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year everyone.

Pamela Salsbury, PTO Secretary
